A Hartlepool school teacher who felt forced to resign from her job in 2014 for posting, what her employers and her local newspaper deemed, ‘inappropriate’ comedy videos online is on her way to national stardom as a comedian and musician after becoming an online sensation.
It’s been a bad few years for the live music scene with some great places forced to closure and bands running out of places to go and play to a half decent crowd. But, as from around 9pm tomorrow night the north-east will see the birth of a new and exciting new go-to place for some of the best live signed and unsigned original bands from all around the UK, maybe even the world!
With a capacity of just more than 400 and a stage that dominates the large room, Peng Music are getting creative with some exciting plans for their new HQ, prioritising both artist and punter experience and looking for the right balance so that both come away from a gig feeling like they have not just watched a gig, they have had a great night also.

Dead Sea Skulls + Guests: The Aerodrome, Thornaby. 30/09/16
When it comes to trying to sell a band to live music fans, this one is very simple. One of the most exciting live touring bands on the UK circuit right now is Birmingham 3-piece Indie-Punk band Dead Sea Skulls, fronted by the multi-talented instrumentalist and vocalist Ash Sheehan (The Twang). It should say enough that they are busy doing gigs with one of the most iconic British bands in history, The Who!!… But that’s only the start of it!

Sunday 11th September: Live at The Aerodrome, Thornaby, Stockton-On-Tees. TS17 6PA
One of the UK’s most hotly tipped new Indie bands, The Barratts are heading back to Teesside next month as part of their ‘Open Wounds & Windows’ EP Tour.
The young five-piece fronted by the charismatic and confident James Faulkner with Jack Dunmore (Bass), Kyle Homer (R.Gtr), Brandon Essom (L.Gtr) and Evan Bridgestock (Drums) completing the line up, describe themselves on Facebook as an indie band but that’s way too much of a vague description for this The Barratts. It’s Indie music at it’s blistering best, with big 90’s Britpop influences mixed with tones of The Cure and Pulp. Catchy guitar themes, groovy bass lines and effortless but commanding vocals from Faulkner.
